We have had a number of anxious calls to the office from around the southeast after hearing a rumor that an Irish Internet business might loose it’s domains names!
Hosting 365 seems to have lost it ICANN registration status as their “account was put on hold”
Well we would just like to let our clients know that we have your domain names secure with another company.
We are not currently using hosting365 services.
Basically as far as we can work out their account with ICANN (the main authority who register International domain) was put on hold, this may have meant that they can not renew domain or register any new ones. Again, we are not using them so I can not confirm.
All our Clients domains are safe.
Maybe it’s a sign that the recession in Ireland is finally hitting the tech sector too, after being able to hold it off for so long its looks like even the big boys are feeling the squeeze. Small tech businesses like ours have smaller overheads and can take a small hit (yes i said small hit!)when one of our clients disappears, but it seems from the ICANN statement that they have been put “on hold”

For the record, despite any scaremongery, this US company and ICANN credentials have nothing whatsoever do to with the shared hosting and domain registration services of Register365 (formerly a division of Hosting365)
Hosting365 does not provide domain registration services.
Register365.com, Ireland’s largest and leading domain registration provider and shared hosting provider has full and safe control of all domain names for all customers that were registered under the hosting365 brand, there are no such domains associated with the entity in the letter.
I would appreciate if you would clarify your existing post, or indeed remove it, as you are casting wholly inaccurate aspersions on a company that does not even provide the services in question, furthermore, your comments that there is any financial risk or implication around hosting365 is further inaccurate and actionable as libel.

Thanks for clearing that up for us, I understand there is a lot of confusion out there around Ireland with the general public who are not aware of the difference between Hosting365 and Register365. I understand that the company has been sold in recent times according to many on-line resources, but some of the websites still point towards Hosting365 as being the company who have the accreditation.

So we can confirm that hosting365 are not “on hold” with the ICANN and they have not lost any ICANN status as they are not the ones who register domains. Register365 do that and they have all necessary documentation etc.

according to the ICANN docs, the bill was only $28k
If they lost the account due to that… i can only assume 365 are yet another victim of the Irish crash, i.e they are skint
